Shop the Fenton and Linden Farmer’s Markets this summer!
Market season 2015 is upon us here at Southern Lakes Parks & Recreation. We cannot wait for the fresh produce, the relaxing summer breezes, and the warmth of the sun!
Market nights are a great way to fill your pantry with healthy, local food – while supporting the local farms in our area. You can also shop the crafts of local artisans – and believe me, we have incredibly talented artisans here locally.
Stroll through the Fenton Farmer’s Market on Thursdays, beginning June 25th through September 17th. Market hours are 5-8pm. (There is no Market on July 2nd). The Fenton Market takes place in the Fenton Community & Cultural Center’s parking lot.
On Wednesdays, you can shop the Linden Farmer’s Market from 5-8pm, beginning July 15th all the way through September 2nd. Market hours are 5-8pm. The Linden Market will be taking place at a new location this year at the downtown Union Block. (at the corner of Bridge and Broad Streets).
The Market Manager, Sherie Peruski of Southern Lakes Parks & Recreation says, “The Farmers Markets will be boasting lots of fresh produce and a variety of other goodies. Great shopping in both downtowns, right here locally! Fun for the whole family!” Sherie also mentioned that there are still vendor spaces available. If you are interested in becoming a market vendor, please call Sherie at 810.714.2011, or email her at speruski@slpr.net. The Fenton and Linden Market are brought to you by Southern Lakes Parks & Recreation. The Fenton Market is sponsored by the Fenton DDA. The Linden Market is sponsored by the Linden DDA.
A few helpful tips for fellow market shoppers: Be sure to bring a few bags to put all of your great finds and produce in. You will surely find more than your arms can carry. Cash is king when it comes to shopping at the various vendor booths. While some vendors do accept credit cards, cash is still the easiest way to complete your purchase. If you have other errands or activities to do afterwards, be sure to pack a cooler in your car to keep that produce crisp and fresh.
If you’ve never checked out the Fenton and Linden Farmer’s Markets, now is the time! You can’t beat fresh fruit; locally grown corn on the cob, a variety of prepared food items, as well as all the other beautiful artisan crafts. We look forward to seeing you at the Markets this summer!
