Tour Des Lacs – Summer 2016!

Tour des Lacs is making its comeback in August 2016!  Mark those calendars, and be ready to bike the magnificent area of Fenton,Linden and the surrounding communities on Saturday, August 6th.What is Tour des Lacs you ask?  Tour des Lacs is a bike tour that tours the lakes in our surrounding area. The bike tour is open to people of all ages and all levels of biking.  It is not a race, but rather a tour with 3 options for distance: 29k, 50k, and 100k.  The routes will include several different lakes, farmlands, rolling hills – highlighting the beautiful scenery that our community has to offer.Registration is now open.  Participants can register in person at Southern Lakes Parks & Recreation  office, or online at www.slpr.net.  The SLPR office is located at 150 S. Leroy St, Fenton.  Participants will receive a water bottle, a t-shirt, and an invite to the After-Glow Party at the Fenton Community & Cultural Center.   Prices for the participants are as follows: $30 for the 29k, $60 for the 50k and $75 for the 100k.The race will begin on August 6th at 8am.  The start and finish of the race is at the Fenton Community & Cultural Center.  Refreshments and juice will be provided to participants prior to the start of the race.  Hydration stations will be placed around the course for riders as they bike the tour.  These hydration stations will include water, light snacks, bathrooms, and first aid.  The tour wraps up at the Fenton Community & Cultural Center with the After-Glow Party.  Camp Kasey will be in attendance with horses and a petting farm for children.  We will also be hosting different raffles, team awards (aka – “Best Dressed Cyclist” amongst others….) and games – family fun for everyone!Tour des Lacs is going to be a wonderful bike tour, showcasing the beautiful scenery of the area, as well as providing fun for friends and family.  The tour is still seeking sponsors for the event – event sponsors, refreshment sponsors, shirt sponsor, entertainment sponsor, and more.  If you are interested in sponsoring, please contact Harrison Cypher at hcypher@slpr.net, or call at 810.714.2011.  Online registration is open for participants at www.slpr.net.  Questions about the Tour des Lacs?  Please contact Southern Lakes Parks & Recreation.   Looking forward to a fabulous tour!
