Fenton Community Expo 2017The Fenton Regional Chamber of Commerce 2017 Community Expo is off to a busy start. Saturday morning crowds were large and enthusiastic for the event that runs March 4th and 5th. The event is held in the gymnasium at Fenton High School. Display booths fill the gym allowing area businesses a place to showcase their products and services. Fenton Assistant City Manager, Michael Hart, commented: “The Community Expo is a great event for the city of Fenton. It allows us to showcase the various activities going on in our community. The Expo affords people the opportunity to meet some of the businesses that support our city and the surrounding areas. We are happy to be a part of it.”

As visitors flowed through the aisles, children collected lollipops, candy, pens, pencils, and assorted handouts to fill their goody bags. One of the popular stops, a face painting booth sponsored by Dr. Wax Orthodontics of Linden, offered sprayed on designs for kids and adults. Radio station WHMI 93.5 was on hand to do live updates. Guests visiting the WHMI booth signed up for door prizes provided by Lasco Ford and could listen in to the on-air announcements from the Expo. HSP Imaging of Fenton snapped pictures of Expo attendees, the free portraits showcased their photographic skills.

Adjacent to the displays in the gymnasium a Kid’s Zone offered bounce houses and sporting activities to entertain the youngsters. A cafeteria next door serves refreshments, a large seating area gives attendees a place to eat or rest. The room doubles as the entertainment center with groups like the Fenton Community Orchestra performing.

“Something for everyone” sums up the Community Expo. Another successful event for our community and another reason why Fenton is not just a great place to live, but a great place to do business.
