Charlotte Motor Speedway Live Coverage: Erik Jones Accident During Hot Laps for NBC

Charlotte Motor Speedway, October 7, 2017, 10:00 am

Slow day at the track this morning. NASCAR Xfinity qualifying and Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series practice rained out. Just before the skies opened up the NBC car was on the track shooting video for Sunday’s broadcast.  Byron, Michigan native Erik Jones is behind the wheel and given the all-clear signal for some hot laps. Except, someone forgot to remove steps into the grandstand by the flagman’s tower.

Erik Jones, Jeff Burton OK After Test Car Hits Stairs On Track

Erik Jones Racing & Jeff Burton are both OK after an incident with our NBCSN test car hitting a set of stairs on the track.
