Paul King enjoys helping people. That mantra of doing things for others can be traced back to his five-plus years in the military serving as an Army Ranger in the 82nd Airborne Division. But, it does not stop there. Every day Paul works with potential new and pre-owned vehicle buyers at Grand Blanc Mitsubishi. He helps people secure loans to purchase the car of their dreams. Or, in some cases, the vehicle they need to get to work and support their families.
No Job assignment is too tough. Again, that Army Ranger training coming through. Paul has helped many people who thought they would never be able to purchase a car due to credit or bankruptcy problems. His experience in the automobile business provides Paul with a large number of financial institutions to work with. His determination to find a way has helped buyers secure loans when other dealers said no way.
The job of Business Finance Manager is not just about securing financing. His responsibilities include helping customers with insurance products to protect their vehicle investment. He also takes care of the paperwork that completes the registration process of the purchase with the State of Michigan.
Paul’s commitment to helping people extends beyond the workplace. He serves on the Board of Directors of Faith in Action of Oakland County. The charity matches community volunteers with seniors and the homebound who need help with everyday activities, their goal is to help them remain functionally independent.
Ever the warrior, Paul is also working on his own charity to serve veterans struggling with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Having served in one of the premier infantry divisions in the military, Paul knows the price many veterans pay in the service of their country.
Paul’s Career as a Manager
Paul has worked in the retail automobile business for a number of years. What brought him to the Lasco Automotive Group? According to Paul, “I had a friend who worked at Lasco Ford. He told me about the family atmosphere at the dealership and the type of work environment that is created by a family run business. It sounded like the type of place I would enjoy working so I made the move to Fenton. I’ve never regretted making the change, every day is an exciting new challenge.”
Coming to Lasco Ford, Paul accepted the position of Lease Manager. He worked with Ford customers on lease renewals, helping with the lease turn-in process and handling the paperwork requirements with Ford Motor Company. His past experience as a Business Finance Manager allowed Paul to fill-in as needed in the Finance Department.
When the Lasco Automotive Group acquired the Mitsubishi franchise at their Grand Blanc location, Paul was the natural choice for the promotion to Business Finance Manager at that location.
