On Saturday June 23, 2018, Flint Farmers’ Market customers will find a new look in the HAP Outdoor Pavilion. The first section of the pavilion will be reset to feature a “Farmers’ Square.” This square will be made up of a variety of local farmers, some large and some small who are carrying locally grown Michigan produce and plants.  This section will also be home to future educational programming that will help the community better understand the importance of knowing how and where their food is grown.  On Saturday at 9 am and 10 am there will be FREE container gardening demonstrations by Stony Creek Organics with more classes and demos to follow in the coming weeks.

Market Manager, Karianne Martus says, “We have been here for four years and it has been wonderful, but we still need to find ways to improve the way we serve our community. This new Farmers’ Square initiative will make it easier for customers to dialogue with our farmers about how they grow their food and they best ways to help their families eat better.”
