Summer is here, schools out, and the “FUN” is just beginning. Looking for something to do? Here is a primer on activities planned for the Fenton Area in the next couple of months.

Inside | Out

Title: Girl and Laurel Artist: Winslow Homer, American, 1836-1910 Circa: 1879

The community outreach program of the Detroit Insititute of Art, Inside|Out, remains on display in downtown Fenton. The exhibit consists of 11 pieces of art from the DIA reproduced on vinyl suited for outdoor conditions. The Fenton Community and Cultural Center have maps of the display locations. A short walk along the riverside gives visitors the opportunity to see world-class art in Fenton.

But hurry, In mid-July, the exhibition moves to another Michigan town. What a great way to experience the joy of famous artworks right in your hometown. Kudos to the DIA for providing us this opportunity.

Fenton Artwalk

From world-famous artists and their masterpieces, Fenton transitions into the display of local artists and their exceptional pieces of art. On the calendar for July 14th from 10 am to 8 pm. The Fenton ArtWalk is a community event celebrating the arts and showcasing local and regional talent with the visual art, music, entertainment, technology integrated art, and children’s activities.
