Lake Fenton Music Boosters’ 5th Annual Tin Can Raffle to Be Held December 14-15, 2018

The Lake Fenton High School Commons will once again be merry and bright as the Lake Fenton Music Boosters will be hosting their annual fundraiser, Tin Can Raffle 2018, on Friday, December 14, 2018 from 5:00PM-9:30PM and Saturday, December 15, 2018 from 9:00AM-4:00PM.

The Tin Can Raffle (TCR) has become the largest annual fundraiser for the music program.  Since its inception in 2014, the TCR has generated over $32,500 for the program, helping offset a variety of expenses including trips to Chicago, Walt Disney World and a large portion of the new band uniform campaign last year.

The TCR has also grown from being a small fundraising effort to a community event that guests look forward to attend each December.  They not only come to try their luck winning some of the great prizes, but to enjoy the festive atmosphere and musical performances.  This year’s entertainment will once again include a collection of ensembles of high school and junior high students as well as special appearances by the Prelude String Orchestra, High School Jazz Band and Choir.

The way the TCR is designed, guests could spend as little as 10-15 minutes dropping off tickets in the cans of the prizes they’d like to win or they can stay as long as they like listening to performances throughout each day.

Some of the items that guests will have the chance to win include themed gift baskets put together by the band sections, tickets to local events, gift cards to many of our local eateries and special “priceless” prizes such as being a guest conductor at the LFHS Holiday Music Concert, preferred seating at the 2019 LFHS Commencements in June or Bowling with Middle School Band Director Mr. Sean Spicer.

According to Mr. Ryan Gonder, the LFHS Director of Bands, the success of the Tin Can Raffle has a direct impact on our students.

“The support we’ve received from the community and businesses alike really show the appreciation of what we are trying to provide for the musical education of our students,” Mr. Gonder said.  “This annual event has become a fun way to have a sense of community and holiday spirit all while helping raise funds to offset the expenses of the program.”
