The first sign of Spring in Fenton is the annual Community Expo at Fenton High School. After weeks of unrelenting freezing temps, snow and ice storms the Fenton Community Expo gives everyone a chance to venture out for some fun. A little bit of snow was in the air Saturday as doors opened. But, not enough to worry about and the crowds filled the school gym.
Local businesses display their wares, talk about their services, and hand out goodies to adults and kids alike.
Costumed creatures greet guests. Games of chance give visitors a shot to win prizes. We visited business displays from The State Bank, Dr. Wax Orthodonics, Einstien Dog Training, Lasco Ford, Fenton Winery & Brewery, Sawyer Jewelers, and Fenton School of Dance just to name a few.
The cafeteria gives guests a place to grab some food, sit and rest, or enjoy some local entertainment. Groups like the Fenton High School Ambassadors, The Fenton Community Orchestra, Fenton Karate, Fenton School of Dance, and Visions in Motion Dance Studios performed to the delight of those in attendance.
Of course, kids are an important part of the Fenton Community Expo. They enjoy running around the displays stuffing a bag full of candy, pencils, flags, flying discs, and blow up beach balls. Then there is the face painting, petting zoo, and bounce houses to play in.
Another successful year for the Fenton Expo, looking forward to spring just around the corner. Also to another great year for our community.
