When the DNR purchased the gravel pit off Grange Hall Road near Dixie Highway and I-75 they had grand intentions. Now thanks to an agreement with the Oakland County Parks and Recreation Commission the intent is turning into reality. If you are into taking your truck or SUV off-roading, you’re going to love it.
Off-road recreational vehicles (ORV’s) owners will have a 235-acre playground to strut their stuff close by, adjacent to Mount Holly. Full-size vehicles as well as motorcycles, ATV’s, and registered ORV’s will have access to the park.
The DNR negotiated a 20-year agreement with the Oakland County Parks and Recreation Commission to operate the park. A July 2020 opening date is planned. Watch for updates as more information becomes available. We know a lot of The Lasco Press readers will be eager to hit the trails. Get the old Bronco out of the garage and give her a once-over, find a spot to strap in the cooler and we’re good to go.
