Fenton, MI — July 4th, 2019
Area residents lined the streets of downtown Fenton to celebrate our Nation’s Independence Day.

The huge crowd started setting up canopies, umbrellas, lawn chairs, and blankets to sit on well before the 10 am Freedom Festival Parade was to start. They cheered as groups of runners in the 5K Race passed by.

The summer sun quickly raised the temperature, everyone used their own method to battle the heat and stay cool.
The Parade
Of course, the event everyone came to see was the 29th Annual Fenton Freedom Festival Parade. Veterans, Freedom Fighters, First Responders turned out to make the All-American Celebration of Nation’s Birthday a patriotic event.
Patriotism on Display
The Red, White, & Blue was on full display as floats draped in flags and banners were filled with waving participants. Many tossing candies to the children along the parade route.
Spectators joined the patriotic celebration sporting their best tri-color combinations and flag design clothing.
Local Business Support the Freedom Festival Parade
The parade is a great opportunity for local businesses to feature their services to area residents in attendance. Many joined in the celebration. Still more set up on the lawn of the Fenton Community and Cultural Center in pop-up tents to display and sell merchandise.
Fenton is Ford Country
There were almost 150 vehicles in the parade, with a strong representation of Ford F-150’s and Super Duty pickups. America’s Best-Selling Truck Brand towed floats, carried riders, and showed off a variety of styles down the route of the parade.
Local Ford Dealer, Lasco Ford, showed their support for the community with several vehicles in the procession.
The ever-popular Rotary Club Rubber Ducky Regatta fundraiser wrapped up the downtown activities. As everyone looked forward to the evening’s fireworks finale from Silver Lake Park.
