RedBud MX National Winners Eli Tomac and Dylan Ferrandis

Motocross fans enjoyed a great day of racing at the Circle K RedBud Nationals. The 7th Round of the 2019 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship saw favorites Eli Tomac and Dylan Ferrandis take the overall wins.

450MX Qualifying

Cooper Webb(2) posted the fastest lap in 450 MX qualifying, Eli Tomac(1) qualified 4th.

Two Michigan riders made the feature event, Bradley Esper(727) from Howell, MI and Jerry Lorenz III(881) of Morrice, MI.

450 MX Moto 1

Cooper Webb took the holeshot from Justin Bogle(19) at the start of Moto 1.

But, Bogle quickly moved past and took the early lead. Marvin Musquin(25) was making a move towards the front, got caught up in traffic, and went down with the bike on top trapping him. Course workers freed Musquin and he returned to the race in last place.

Riding confident Eli Tomac moved to the front and built a solid lead to take the win. Jason Anderson(21) and Webb joined Tomac on the podium. Musquin worked his way through traffic to finish 7th.

450 MX Moto 2

Musquin came back to win Moto 2. However, another solid performance by Tomac secured a 2nd place to give him the overall title. Ken Roczen(94) finished on the podium in Moto 2 taking the 3rd spot.

250MX Qualifying

Qualifying for the 250 MX Feature was a real battle between Dylan Ferrandis(34), Justin Cooper(32), and Adam Cianciarulo(92). All three riders posted a time under 2:10.

Michigan riders Jeffrey Walker(841) of Ottawa Lake and Joey Crown(89) from Metamora made the 250 MX feature. Howell’s Matt Klann(164) qualified 58th placing him in the Last Chance Consolation race where he finished 20th and out of the feature event.

250 MX Motos

Dylan Ferrandis left no doubt as to who would win the overall title of the 250 MX. He finished 1st in both Moto 1 & 2 to take home the hardware. Cooper and Cianciarulo joined Ferrandis on the podium as the trio completely dominated the event.

The 125 All-Star Race

Justin Cokinos won the 125 All-Star Race. Michigan’s Todd DeHoop, the former National Champion in the 125 AMA East Coast MX series, finished 15th.
