Proud Lake Recreation Area, Commerce Charter Township, MI — August 15, 2019
The annual Barefoot & Free Yoga and Music Festival is set for this weekend at Proud lake Recreation area in Commerce Township. Now in its fourth year, the festival is expanding to include even more healing arts, family-friendly classes, and workshops. Nutritious food, and beverages, plus new workouts will Barre and Ecstatic dance.
Attendance last year topped 700 participants and this year looks to be even bigger. Founder Beth James organized the event “to create an immersive gathering in nature. A gathering centered on yoga, conscious evolution, play, and a remembrance of what it feels like to truly feel free.”
Music
Headlining acts this year include DJ Taz Rashid and TLooP. Additional performances from artists like Callie “C.J.” Grady, DJ Rebecca Goldberg, Greater Alexander, Sacred Space, and the band Y-Not are but a few of the artists you can enjoy.
Yoga
Featured Yogis and Instructors include Tori Washington, Chelsey Korus, Sensei Derek, Cassandra Justine, Ann Fancy, and Danny Pomplun and the list goes on for a full weekend of instruction and participation. The vendor list attending is equally impressive.
