In May the Lake Fenton High School Band teamed with Lasco Ford and Ford Motor Company to hold a Drive 4 UR School fundraiser on the school campus. Lasco Ford provided the different Ford vehicle models for test drives. The school provided help to organize activities. Band volunteers registered drivers on the day the test drives were held. Friends, family, and guests were invited to participate.

Their efforts were rewarded with a check for $8,000 presented to the Lake Fenton High School Band program.

Drive 4 UR School

No cookies to sell, no cars to wash, just invite folks to come and test drive a brand new Ford product. No sales pitch involved, just have fun. With a donation of $20 per test drive from Ford, the funds pile up quickly and everyone goes home happy.

“We love participating with local schools on this fundraising project.” Said Jay Lasco, Vice-President of Lasco Ford on Owen Road in Fenton. “It’s a low-stress day for everyone, the chance to experience the great models that Ford has to offer is exciting. The school benefits and we get to give back to the community. Every year someone drops by the dealership and says I drove one of your cars at the High School and was really impressed.”

Jay Lasco and Lasco Ford Corporate Assistant Katelyn Couturier delivered the big check to Ryan Gonder, Band Director for Lake Fenton High School and the students celebrated their accomplishment.

Ford Motor Company’s Commitment to Communities

Drive 4 UR School began in 2007 as a way for Ford to give back to communities across the country. The idea was simple: Test-drive a Ford vehicle from a local dealership, get money for your school. The success of the school program inspired the launch of Drive 4 UR Community, allowing Ford Dealers to partner with nonprofit organizations as well. Thousands of events and $35 million in donations later, participants are still test-driving for a cause that they – and Ford – are equally passionate about.
