Monday, what a great day to hold a charity golf tournament. Carry the weekend one more day forward. Even better if participation raises funds for a worthy cause.

Raising Money for a Great Cause

The Whaley Golf Classic is one of three big events each year that the Whaley Children’s Center in Flint relies upon to fund their annual budget.

Corporate sponsors, hole sponsors, caddie auctions and a day-long silent auction all add up towards a goal of $80,000 for this year’s event.

About the Whaley Children’s Center

Mission Statement
Whaley Children’s Center provides tools to children and families who have experienced trauma to reach their full potential.

Vision Statement
Through dynamic leadership and dedicated staff and volunteers, Whaley Children’s Center will be a source of hope, care, and
treatment to Michigan’s abused, neglected, and at-risk children and families.

Core Values
Children and Families
We have a total commitment to treating all children and families with fairness, dignity and respect regardless of race, age, creed,
ethnicity, orientation or ability.

Staff Services
We embrace and encourage strengths-based relationships through the sharing of experiences and the celebration
of multiculturalism in a supportive atmosphere.

Community Service
We strive to be leaders in the treatment of at-risk children and their families and creating an environment that fosters
positive change and growth.

Even though the tournament is over, the Whaley Children’s Center is hopeful you feel inclined to contribute to the important work they perform in our community.

Whaley Children’s Center is committed to filling the gap that exists between the cost of caring for a child and the funding we receive from the government to provide for our accredited residential and clinical programs and services. That means each year Whaley must raise 20% of its budget in private donations.

Any donation you can make helps to ensure the growth and success of our youth at Whaley Children’s Center and makes it possible for us to continue transforming lives and creating futures!

At the heart of every donor who gives to Whaley Children’s Center is a desire to help children and give them a fighting chance to succeed. Here is how your donation will make an impact.

  • $25 donation provides an incoming boy or girl with a welcome gift which includes a new book, toy, outfit, blanket and pillow.
  • $50 donation provides breakfast, lunch, dinner and two snacks to one child for 7 days.
  • $75 donation will cover extracurricular activities for one semester helping to enrich and expand a child’s life.
  • $100 donation will cover the cost of gas for our kids to travel 165 miles to school, competitions, doctors’ appointments, family visits, volunteer initiatives, job interviews and all other off-campus opportunities that help our children foster relationships and life skills.
