Fenton, MI — November 27th, 2019

This week’s release of the 2019 College Football Playoff Rankings was somewhat of a disappointment for Michigan Wolverine fans. There was also a change in the Top 5. After Ohio State topped Penn State 28-17, the Buckeyes vaulted over LSU to become the #1 ranked team in the country.

Top 5

Clemson, Georgia, and Alabama retained their third, fourth and fifth place rankings. Entering the final weekend of the regular-season conference championship matchups are still to be determined. The outcome of which will determine the playoff teams and New Year’s Six Bowl opponents.

Michigan Wins Big

The Wolverines traveled to Indiana for a potentially difficult matchup with the Hoosiers. Michigan’s 39-14 victory should have resonated with the selection committee. But, Coach Harbaugh’s squad will enter their matchup with Ohio State ranked 13th.

Still, a win over the top-ranked Buckeyes will put Michigan in the Big 10 title game and keep alive the possibility of a playoff invitation.

Quarterback Shea Patterson had another stellar game throwing for 366 yards and 5 touchdowns.
