“It’s because I’m green, isn’t it?” No matter how hard the ugly old grinch tries, everyone loves the little green guy at Christmas time. The Waterford Township Public Library is holding a Grinch Day December 21st with two special events just before the big day the following week.

From 10:30 am to 11:15 am that Saturday the library will host a reading of “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” by Dr. Seuss. Following the reading of the beloved children’s book there will be activities, decorate an ornament to keep, play Pin the Heart on the Grinch and Grinch Heart Hunt games. Enjoy a Grinchy treat and juice. Recommended for students in preschool through second grade (3-8). It’s Grinch Day! Wear green.

The Movie

That afternoon, the library will air the animated movie version of the Grinch’s tale for the entire family from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm. Dr. Seuss’ classic children’s book hits the screen in a new animated feature. The Grinch tries to steal Christmas from Whoville. Feel free to bring pillows, blankets, drinks, and snacks. No peanuts, please. The library will provide “green” popcorn. Children under 9 need to be accompanied by an adult. No registration required.

Plan for a fun family Saturday to put everyone in the mood for Christmas Day. The Waterford Township Public Library is located at 5168 Civic Center Drive in Waterford, Michigan 48329. Their telephone number is 248-674-4831.
