You may have read our earlier article talking about the major rain storm that is about to hit mid-Michigan with potential ice and snow.  The Detroit/Pontiac National Weather Service has now included a Winter Storm Watch Through Saturday night.

Moderate to heavy rain will make it’s way through the area Friday through Saturday as it becomes freezing rain when temperatures drop Saturday.   Northeast winds gusting as high at 40 MPH across the Saginaw Valley and thumb area could lead to substantial tree and wind damage.

Anyone traveling through Michigan should be cautious as dangerous travel conditions are possible due to ice and snow covered roads.  Winds will also pick up in speed which could cause power outages and tree damage due to the heavy ice.
