PGA BMW Championship Settled With 2 Amazing Putts

Olympia Fields Country Club, Cook County, IL — August 30, 2020

The BMW Championship came down to a Sunday afternoon battle between Dustin Johnson and John Rahm in what is essentially the semi-final of the FedExCup Tour Championship. Johnson, the 3rd round leader, shot a solid final round of 67. But, John Rahm moved from 5th place into the lead with his round of 64, 6 under on the Olympia Fields course with a par of 70.

Rahm opened the tournament with a first-round 75 and trailed Hideki Matsuyama by 8 strokes. Rounds of 71 and 66 brought him into contention and he started Sunday 3 strokes behind Matsuyama and Johnson who shared the lead at 1 under par.

The leader in the clubhouse at 4 under par, Rahm sat 1 stroke ahead of Johnson as Dustin came to the 18th needing a birdie to send the tournament into a playoff. Watch as the day’s highlight culminate with spectacular putts from Johnson and Rahm.

Tiger Woods needed a 5th place finish to qualify for the Tour Championship. All four of Tiger’s rounds were over par, the first time he failed to break par since the 2010 Bridgestone Invitational.

Johnson and Rahm are likely to battle it out again at the Tour Championship from the East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta this weekend.
