Willie Mack III Fails to Make the Cut at Farmers Insurance Open

Torrey Pines Golf Course, San Diego, CA — January 30, 2021

Willie Mack III’s debut on the PGA TOUR did not last as long as it could have. Teeing off as a sponsor’s exemption in the Farmers Insurance Open, Mack failed to make the cut after Friday’s second round.

Viktor Hovland leads the tournament with a total score of 9 under par. Six more golfers are tied for 2nd at 8 under. The cut line fell at minus 1.

Mack shot a two-over-par opening-round 74, followed by a 75 on Friday for a tournament total of 5 over par.

As a last-minute replacement for Kamaiu Johnson, Mack had little time to prepare for his 1st ever PGA TOUR event. He will follow up this appearance with an entry in the Genesis Invitational at Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles on February 18-21. Mack gained entrance to the Genesis Invitational as the recipient of the Charlie Sifford Memorial Exemption.
