The Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series wrapped up their three event residency at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX with Cooper Webb dominating the 450 SX Class. Meanwhile, the 250 SX West riders continue to rotate the points lead with six riders in the mix.

Cameron McAdoo(31) ran away with Heat 1 in the 250 SX class. But, that did not mean the moto lacked drama. Mitchell Harrison(35) and Jordan Smith(80) collided in mid-air shortly after the start, eliminated both riders from the event. Late in the race, points contender Garrett Marchbanks (48) went down in the sand section and got trapped under his bike. He finished 18th and was forced into the Last Chance Qualifier. Marchbanks did not panic and won the LCQ to advance to the Main Event.

Heat 2 saw Justin Cooper(32) take the holeshot and ride away. Jalek Swoll(47), Hunter Lawrence(41), and Seth Hammaker(150) were left to battle it out for 2nd. Points leader Lawrence grabbed the runner-up position with Swoll holding off Hammaker for 3rd.

The Main Event was a replay for Cooper as he again earned the holeshot and with a clear track ahead of him pulled out to a comfortable lead. McAdoo, Lawrence, Marchbanks, and Hammaker followed.

Marchbanks laid his bike down out of a corner and dropped out of contention, falling to 9th. Lawrence over-jumped the end of the rhythm section, climbed the corner out of the track, getting caught up in the protective net draping the outside of the racing area. He dropped from 3rd to 5th.

Cooper, McAdoo, and Hammaker grabbed the podium spots and jumbled the points standings for another week. Cooper is back on top with 108 points, McAdoo trails by two with 106, and Lawrence drops from the lead into 3rd with 102. Swoll, Marchbanks, and Hammaker are still in the mix with 93, 93, and 88 points respectively.

450 SX

Justin Barcia(51), Malcolm Stewart(27), Eli Tomac(1) establish themselves as the leaders right out of the gate in Heat 1. Tomac, on a mission to save his title defense, takes the lead and pulls away. Michigan’s Broc Tickle finishes 7th, advancing to the Main Event.

Heat 2 features the other two title contenders, Cooper Webb(2) and Ken Roczen(94). They leave the starting gate with Webb in the lead and Chase Sexton(23) between them. Roczen, trying to break the recent Webb dominance, moves to the lead forcing his rival high in a corner.

Sexton catches Webb and forces his way around. The riders collide with Webb going down on the track. He has trouble remounting his bike and ends up finishing 5th costing Webb a premium gate selection.

After winning his Heat, Roczen is on a mission. He takes the early lead in the 450 SX Main Event. Webb, Barcia, and Tomac follow on the 1st lap. Webb’s protagonist in the Heat, Chase Sexton, crashes hard in the sand and is out of the event.

Tomac, who desperately needs a win, passes Barcia for 3rd. Unfortunately, Tomac hits a tuff block, allowing Barcia to get back past him. Webb challenges Roczen and the two swap the lead running side-by-side through the whoops. Webb prevails and pulls away for the win, sweeping all three events at Arlington.

Tomac fights back to 3rd, but sees his championship hopes all but disappear as he falls 41 points behind Webb in the standings. Broc Tickle was 15th at the start, he rode his way up to a respectable 11th place finish.

Webb’s Texas triple has him leading Roczen by 15 points with just five events remaining. The series takes a 2-week break before resuming at Atlanta Motor Speedway for another triple-header on April 10th, 13th, and 17th. The Season concludes with a two-race wrap-up at Salt Lake City, April 24th and May 1st.
