NASCAR set 2020 as the year they would introduce the “Next Gen” car as the replacement for the current Generation Six model that has been the standard for their premier series since 2013. Manufacturers in the sport were asked to submit their designs for the brand they wanted to feature on the track.
Then something happened that interfered with the timing. Generation Seven or “Next Gen” as it has been nicknamed will debut on the Cup Circuit in 2022. Testing is being conducted and minor modifications continue as the basic vehicle package has been assembled. Manufacturers will have the opportunity to introduce their NASCAR race car to the public soon, as NASCAR finalizes all approved designs. Ford Motor Company plans to unveil their Mustang race machine on May 5th of this year.
Here is a sneak peek of the “Next Gen” Ford Mustang that will carry the Blue Oval beginning with the 2022 Daytona 500.
