Last week on The Voice, Zania Alake from Detroit, Michigan won the Battle arranged by her coach John Legend to move on to the Knockout Round of the competition. This week three more Michigan singers pitted their talents against Battle opponents.
Rio Doyle from Adrian faced off against Carolina Rial, another pair coached by John Legend. They sang “Somebody That I Used to Know” by Gotye. Rio won the sing-off between the two. However, Legend used his only save to keep Carolina in the mix. He was impressed by the quality of both the teenagers, check the video.
Michigan vs Michigan Battle
Coach Nick Jonas also had two Michigan singers on his team. Unfortunately, he chose to match them up against each other in their Battle. Rachel Mac from Romeo and Bradley Sinclair from Rockford paired up to deliver a powerful performance of Elton John’s “Your Song.”

The coaches panel was so blown away by the performance, all four gave them a standing ovation. Comments included “the best performance of the evening.” Jonas picked Rachel as the winner and the online audience was shocked when no one stepped up to steal or save Bradley. He became the first Michigan singer eliminated from this year’s show.
The Knockouts Begin
Next week the Knockout round of the contest begins and the guest coach was announced. Give Blake Shelton a shout-out for his fashionable attempt at comedy. It should be quite the series of knockdown knockouts.
