Rachel Mac has the opportunity to represent Michigan in the final rounds of "The Voice"

Universal Studios, Universal City, CA — May 11, 2021

As the 20th season of the televised singing competition “The Voice” draws to a close an incredible Michigan singer is set to appear on the semifinals episode. Rachel Mac, the 15-year old, from Romeo, Michigan, was the top vote-getter on Nick Jonas’ team.

Rachel lent her voice to Kacey Musgraves’ “Rainbow” during the live performances’ round completed on the NBC network Monday evening. America loved it. As the vote winner of her Coach’s team, she was one of the first four who advanced to the Top 9.

America’s Mistake

Unfortunately, Zania Alaké from Detroit dropped out of the competition after not being selected by her Coach, John Legend. Zania sang Ariana Grande’s “Dangerous Woman,” the sultry and sexy version of the song featured what you might call a dance during the vocals.

While the Coaches loved Zania’s rendition of the cover, America did not. Voting left her out of the Top 2 of Team Legend. Despite giving some of the most critically acclaimed performances during previous rounds of the competition.

The semifinals of the 20th Season of “The Voice” will air Monday, May 17th on NBC.
