Fenton, MI — July 7, 2021
It’s that time of year again, the orange and white barrels pop up, usually without warning. Thanks to the City of Fenton, we get a heads up on this one. A couple of weeks to protect our bridge roadways, we can deal with it.
Beginning on July 12, Caroline Street will be closed from River Street to Adelaide Street to allow bridge maintenance where Caroline crosses the Shiawassee River. A posted detour is Caroline Street to N. Leroy to Silver Lake Road to Adelaide. The detour also works in reverse. The contractor expects the project to be complete by July 25.
Background: The City of Fenton and the Michigan Department of Transportation awarded the maintenance work to C.A. Hull Construction in Commerce Township.
Future work will repair two other city-owned bridges:
• South Leroy Street over the Shiawassee River.
• Torrey Road over the Shiawassee.
