Fenton High School Teen Wins National Track Title

Brandon Miller outruns two favorites in the final to capture the National Title in the 200 meters dash event.

Senior Sprinter Brandon Miller was instrumental in leading his Fenton High School Tigers to a State Title in the Michigan Track and Field High School Division 1 Championships. Brandon posted 2nd place finishes in the 100-meter and 200-meter dash events.

With an opportunity to compete in the National Scholastic Athletics Foundation (NSAF) Outdoor Nationals, Presented by Nike, on Hayward Field at the University of Oregon, Brandon showed his blazing speed. As the announcers commentating on the event’s two favored athletes, Brandon blew them away with a time of 20.49 in the 200 meters final.

For Miller, it added validation to his National Championship earned at the Adidas Indoor Nationals this past February

Fenton was well represented at the meet as Miller’s high school teammates Noah Sage and Justin Miller also competed. Noah placed 34th in the 200-meters and 19th in the 400-meter events. Justin finished in 6th place topping 6ft.-8.25in. the high jump.

Sarah Marvin from Byron Michigan, competing at the same NASF event won the Girl’s Shot Put title with a distance of 50ft.-7.5in.
