Cornhole Tournament Benefits Fenton Football

Friends of Fenton Football gathered Friday night August 6th to raise funds for the Fenton High School Football program. The event, a cornhole tournament, was hosted at the McBrook Sports Complex, and 62 teams entered the contest that offered cash prizes to the top four teams.

Cornhole America was there to provide setups and offered some of their popular custom-made cornhole bags for sale. The tournament played in a double-elimination format so every team had multiple opportunities to compete.

There were two divisions, Recreational, for those looking to throw some bags just for fun. The Competitive Division brought out the serious bag tossers. Regardless of finishing position, plenty of smiles and laughs filled the gym all evening.

 

McBrook Sports Complex is located at 14261 Torrey Rd, Fenton, MI 48430, the same business center that houses the popular Crossfit Fenton gym. McBrook occupies the building at the rear of the site. Crossfit Fenton was a board sponsor for the event, Joyce Brown and Elmarie Hasbrouck represented the gym tossing bags and showing off their CrossFit athleticism.

At the end of the evening, Nathan Clark and Jeff Carey topped the Recreation Division. April Alvarez and Louis Dugas won the Competitive Division.

The Fenton Tigers kick off the 2021 season by taking on the Midland Dow Chargers at Michigan Stadium on Friday, August 27 at noon. The “Battle of the Big House” is an opportunity for the Tigers to compete on a big stage, show your support. Tickets are only $10 and are available at the Fenton High School Athletic Office.
