Williamsport, PA — August 26, 2021

In their third appearance in the 2021 Little League World Series, the All-Stars from Taylor, Michigan ran into a hot pitcher. Ryan Keanu threw a one-hitter for his Hawaii squad and gave the Michigan kids their first loss of the tournament 2-0. Hawaii advances in the winner’s bracket to the championship game of the Hank Aaron bracket where they will face the winner of the Michigan vs Texas loser’s bracket matchup.

Taylor will have to get past the Texas Little Leaguers that gave them the closest matchup of the tournament to date. Michigan’s 6-5 win on Monday forced Texas to post wins over New Jersey 2-1 and Nebraska 10-0 with the threat of elimination looming.

Thursday’s game will advance one team to face Hawaii, where they will play for the right to move to the Championship Game of the Little League World Series. The other club will be packing their bags and heading home.

In the rematch, Michigan showed their superior firepower as they scored 15 runs on 14 hits to eliminate Texas by the score of 15-6. Three runs in the bottom of the first got the Taylor kids off and running. They followed up with eight more in the bottom of the third and Texas was facing elimination by the 10-run rule.

A six-run comeback in the top of the fourth, by the guys, and one gal from the Lone Star State, kept them alive. Michigan scored four insurance runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to seal the win.
