Scenes of the devastation left behind by Hurricane Ida after she impacted the Louisiana coast have been splashed across television news over the past several days. One of the most critical conditions resulting from the storm is the lack of electricity in much of the area. While electric company teams are working as quickly as possible to restore service, many outlying communities are still without power.
Ford to the Rescue
The 2021 Ford F-150 Hybrid equipped with a 3.5L PowerBoost V6 hybrid powertrain and the company’s Pro Power Onboard generator is turning into a lifesaver. Last winter Ford Motor Company incentivized dealers to add more of these powerhouse vehicles to their loaner fleets. They were used to assist needy residents in Texas suffering through a huge winter storm that knocked out power to many households.
The truck was even used to power a wedding reception this summer when a localized electrical outage left a Farmington Hills, Michigan community in the dark.
Now in the wake of one of the most powerful storms to hit the U.S. Mainland in years, it’s Ford to the rescue again. Ford has sent a fleet of the F-150 rolling generators to Louisana to help in relief efforts in the hardest-hit areas.
