Fenton, MI — January 8, 2022
It seems restaurants come and go as fast as fashion trends. For a family-owned establishment to keep it going and growing for 25 years is quite the statement in a business that has a high turnover rate.
It was 25 years ago this month that the old laundromat on the intersection of Shiawassee and Adelaide began to transition into a restaurant that would evolve into the trendy eatery that helps define Fenton as a food lover’s delightful locale.
Originally bearing the name “The French Laundry,” and now simply known as “The Laundy,” this staple of downtown Fenton is a “must visit” stop on any local foodie tour.
The Laundry Experience
“A part of the Fenton community for two and a half decades, The Laundry serves lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch in a casual bistro atmosphere. Their Lunch menu features delectable sandwiches, housemade soups, and luncheon entrees. A vigorous organic kitchen garden behind the restaurant and provides the restaurant with herbs and vegetables during the spring and summer months, while an on-site bee hive yields honey for use in both the kitchen and bar. A rotating seasonal Dinner menu highlights the highest quality meats and produce available.”
“The full bar features a unique range of craft beers and a dynamic selection of wines and craft cocktails. Outdoor patio seating is available seasonally.”

“Experience one of the most unique collections of incredible edibles and notable potables in the area – at The Laundry.”
