Thanks to all who participated and supported the Waterford Regional Fire Department at its 3rd Annual Charity Basketball Game. Sponsor Waterford Mitsubishi forwarded these photos to us. Game proceeds benefitted the Great Lakes Burn Camp, a wonderful charity that assists severely burned children. If you missed the game, it’s not too late to contribute to this worthy fundraiser, see the link at the bottom of the page.
The Waterford Regional Fire Department kept its winning streak alive against the West Bloomfield Fire Department with a 40-37 victory.

About The Great Lakes Burn Camp
Our mission, to strive to provide a unique experience that promotes healing, self-esteem, confidence, and general well-being for burn-injured children, is what camp is all about. We are a volunteer-run organization comprised of caring compassionate adults. Our goal is to provide unconditional love and acceptance to all burn survivors that attend our camp. We are dedicated to creating a safe space for campers to grow and bond with other burn survivors.
We have held a summer camp for the past 25 years and a winter camp for 22 years. Very often, our former campers return to be staff! They love paying it forward and can relate their own personal experience to the kids attending camp.
Many of our campers have needs beyond their injuries. Through generous donations, we are able to provide all kinds of items to campers, including clothing, toiletries, coats, boots, and many other items. Campers at summer camp also receive free backpacks and school supplies.
We also offer scholarships for former campers to attend college or trade school. More information is available on their website http://glbcforkids.org/
