If you have not made the drive to Dearborn to check out the iconic Ford’s Garage Restaurant it is worth the trip.
The chain’s website https://www.fordsgarageusa.com/ describes itself as “A gourmet burger bar serving up the finest varieties of Black Angus Beef, Turkey, Chicken, and Vegetarian products coupled with all-natural aged cheeses and gourmet toppings.”
“Also specializing in popular American comfort food entrees such as homemade meatloaf, BBQ pork ribs, and macaroni and cheese. Lighter fare is also available with fresh salads, grilled chicken, and fresh fish. Their Burgers of Fame give honor and recognition to many local celebrities, keeping our connection to the communities we so much appreciate.”
The franchise began in Florida, the original location opened in 2012 in historic downtown Fort Myers, less than a mile from Henry Ford’s winter residence. They are licensed to use the Ford name.
“Ford’s Garage will give you the vibe of being in a 1920’s service station to include vintage Ford vehicles, gas pumps, and fixtures. Bars feature prohibition-style elements of old brick, rich wood, and a hand-hammered copper bar top. The company is to open 8-10 new locations in 2022. Future expansions plans are for 10-15 new restaurants each year. Focusing on the states of Florida, Kentucky, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, and Texas.
The Lasco Press visited Ford’s Garage in Dearborn in 2019 at the invitation of Michigan International Speedway for a pre-race promotion featuring Aric Almirola. Once the new Michigan location is announced we will be sure to update readers. Fenton, the home of Lasco Ford, would be an ideal location.
