Ironman Raceway, Crawfordsville, IN — August 27, 2022
The 2022 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross season will come down to the final event on the schedule before a winner is determined in the 450mx and 250mx classes. The Tucker Freight Lines Ironman National produced great racing, thrilled the fans, and left it all to the 2022 Fox Raceway National II at Pala, CA, to determine the series champions.

250 Class
Points leader Jett Lawrence(1) returned to the podium with a win in Moto #1 but could not clinch the season championship as Joe Shimoda(30) fought back to take Moto #2, and Jett’s brother Hunter Lawrence(96) captured second in that race.

The event saw the professional debut of (Danger Boy) Haiden Deegan(438). The son of freestyle racer Brian Deegan and sister of NASCAR Driver Hailie Deegan crashed in Moto #1. But returned in the second 250 race of the day to finish 24th.

Young superstar Ryder DiFrancesco(523) continued his development in the pro series, going 17-14 for an overall 14th-place finish on the day.

Jett is almost assured of capturing the overall series title by starting next week and avoiding trouble that could take him out of the event.
450 Class
Moto #1 of the 450cc riders had all the drama race fans could have asked for. Ken Roczen(94) took the early lead before being “chased” down by Chase Sexton(23). Eli Tomac(3) rode to the front only to lose the lead to Sexton before staging an amazing comeback to take the win.

Jason Anderson(21) crashed in the first turn of the first moto and rejoined the race in next to last place. He rode through the field to post an amazing sixth-place finish. His combined 6-4 moto results placed the Kawasaki KX450SR rider fourth overall.

Sexton kept Tomac, the series leader by a single point, in check by dominating Moto #2 sending the championship battle back to California to wrap up 2022 next weekend.
