Huntington Place, Detroit, MI — September 14, 2022

It’s media day at the North American International Auto Show in the Huntington Place Convention Center, downtown Detroit. Or Cobo Hall as most people remember it. Well, it is supposed to be media day, turns out it’s President’s Day. Yes, the big guy from the White House brought most of the DC press corp with him for a private tour of the show floor.

Of course, the Secret Service was in attendance so security was tight. I have been searched, scanned, wanded, and stared at while my computer bag was dumped and inspected. Good thing I had the red, white, and blue colored M&M’s as my snack.

The Governor also joined the festivities so the State Police shut down the area around the riverfront event center to all vehicle traffic. That’s OK, the walk will help work off the extra calories from the M&M’s. I just hope I can remember where I parked my car. Enough levity, how about the show?

What Will You See?

Cars, of course. Some airplanes, if you are looking for commute options without traffic.

Electric vehicles and everything that makes them run. Dinosaurs, apparently like cars too. They rode to town in the Flintstone’s vehicle and are hanging out near the Ford Display.

The Ghost Busters crew is also there.

Some race cars, exotics, and concept cars.

Oh, yes. There is plenty of fun in store during your visit. You can even take a ride in the New Ford Bronco through an obstacle course that showcases the vehicle’s capabilities. And, if you can take your eyes off the sparkling automobiles, there are pretty/handsome models showcasing features of the new vehicles.
