RedBud MX, Buchannan, MI — September 24, 2022
The red, white, and blue were vividly on display yesterday at RedBub MX as they host the Motocross of Nations this weekend on the “Best Dirt on Earth.” Three-man teams from around the world have descended on the little village of Buchanan, Michigan to contest the Olympics of Motocross.
Eli Tomac, Chase Sexton, and Justin Cooper represent the Stars and Stripes in America’s attempt to win this prestigious title for the first time since Ryan Dungey, Blake Baggett, and Ryan Villopoto took the victory in 2011. It was the seventh victory in a row for Team USA and they want to return to the top of the podium here on home turf.

Tomac Dominates in 2022
Back in July, Tomac won the Redbud National Pro Motocross Championship in the 450 cc Class winning both motos on the day. Who finished second in both of those races? Chase Sexton!

Team Manager Roger DeCoster says, “The boys are ready to ride and we expect to do very well this weekend.” Tomac, who rode for Team USA in 2018 when the MXoN was last held at Redbud, is determined to improve on the disappointing results from that event when the US finished fifth.
In the draw for gate picks for Saturday’s qualifying motos, Team USA has the 15th gate choice out of 34 teams competing this year.

Team Italy is the defending champion of the event, winning the title on their home turf in 2021. Expect a strong showing from Team Australia as the Lawrence brothers, Hunter and Jett, ride together along with Mitch Evans to represent their homeland.

As expected the home field advantage for Team USA will be huge as vocal crowds turned out Friday afternoon to cheer on the riders during team introductions. Huge attendance is expected for both days of the event. Check the Redbud/MXoN website for ticket information.
