Lasco Auto Group Raises Over $10K for Michigan Make-A-Wish Foundation

The Make-A-Wish Foundation is one of those charities that inspire people to commit resources to their cause. The Michigan Chapter recalls the many contributions from the automotive industry.  Their Mission Statement: “Together, we create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.”

“Wishes are more than just a nice thing. And they are far more than gifts or singular events in time. Wishes impact everyone involved—wish kids, volunteers, donors, sponsors, medical professionals, and communities.”

“For wish kids, just the act of making their wish come true can give them the courage to comply with their medical treatments. Parents might finally feel like they can be optimistic. And still, others might realize all they have to offer the world through volunteer work or philanthropy.”

That is one of the many reasons why it “feels good” to join the organization in accomplishing the goal of providing a dream-come-true experience to a critically ill child.

Company-Wide Commitment

In October, the Lasco Auto Group committed their community outreach program, Lasco Gives, to raise money for the Section 501(c)(3) non-profit. All of the Lasco dealerships participated. Accepting donations from employees and customers alike. In addition, the dealer group added cash to the fundraising effort with donations based on department performance during the month. In total, a check for $10,727 was presented to the local chapter of Make-A-Wish, Michigan.

Lasco Auto Group Vice President, Matt Lasco, commented. “We consider our people to be our work family and appreciate their support in striving to meet goals so we can support our community with programs from Lasco Gives.”

“Everyone contributes in some fashion. We want to offer our thanks to Nikki Baxter for spearheading this effort and helping us assist such a fabulous charity like Make-A-Wish.”

Sydney Brobst, a representative from Make-A-Wish, visited the Lasco organization to accept the donation and present a plaque for everyone to take pride in recalling the generous contribution. Brobst shared a heartwarming story of 7-year-old Hayley from Hudsonville, Michigan. Hayley is battling kidney cancer. Her wish was to go to Disney World and meet the princesses. It is donations like those from the Lasco Group that make dreams like Hayleys’ come true.
