The beginning of each new year is generally a time when people pause to consider how they might use the coming 12 months to improve specific aspects of their life. Loose weight, eat healthier, exercise, get better organized, save money, or spend more time with family.
Unfortunately, we are told 80% of those making resolutions fail to keep them for longer than a few weeks or months. Well, slight improvements are a positive, even if the activities are not sustained.

Setting Goals
The Lasco Press has some goals we hope to meet in the upcoming year. We thought we might share them with you, our loyal readers. Plus, we are always happy to listen if you have some suggestions. So, here goes.
- More NASCAR Coverage: We know you like motorsports, and NASCAR is coming off a great year with the new Next-Gen car leveling the playing field between race teams. The 19 different race winners tied an all-time record. In 2023 NASCAR is celebrating its 75th anniversary. Ford Mustang Driver, Joey Logano, is defending his Cup Series Championship, the second of his career. The schedule holds some interesting twists. Stay tuned for our season preview.
- More Motocross Coverage: It will be a historic year for professional motocross. The Supercross and Pro Motocross circuits are combining to provide a season-long points battle that will culminate with playoffs that crown a true professional motocross champion. The season starts this Saturday.
- More Unique Motorsports Event Coverage: Last year, we visited Gatorback Cycle Park for the Mini-Os amateur motocross event. We look to make some more first-time visits to various venues. Maybe cover an NHRA drag race, some Indy Car, and even some short-track stock car racing.
New Local Coverage
We are excited to announce a new article series, “Exploring Michigan.” The Great Lakes State is filled with exciting places to visit, great restaurants, oddities, and interesting stories. Look for the tagline and plan some visits to see what the “Mitten State” has to offer for those looking to discover what’s happening.
