Angel Stadium of Anaheim, Anaheim, CA — January 5, 2022

Motocross fans, the wait is almost over. In what has been an exciting offseason featuring a U.S. win in the Motocross of Nations and the announcement of the new SuperMotocross World Championship Series. Professional motocross followers are anxious for the action to resume on track.

2023 marks the first year of the SuperMotocross League, which unifies Supercross and Pro Motocross and presents the season-ending SuperMotocross World Championship with the top racers in the world competing for a title in a new style of racing that features the best that both indoor stadium and outdoor motocross seasons have to offer.

What has the potential to be the greatest season of motocross racing ever kicks off in a familiar place, Angel Stadium of Anaheim. Supercross has raced at Angel Stadium 79 times, the most of any venue, and is set to host its 32nd season opener in 50 seasons of Supercross.

Ken Roczen has won four Anaheim openers; Justin Barcia has won two, and Marvin Musquin and Jason Anderson have each won one. Only 17 of the 49 previous 450 season-opener winners have gone on to win the title. The last time this happened was with Ryan Villopoto in 2012.

The 2023 track features a unique over-under bridge over the start and into the whoop section, two sets of whoops, and back-to-back triples.
