Lumen Field, Seattle, WA — March 25, 2025

The 2023 Monster Energy AMA Supercross season makes a visit back to the west coast for Round 11 from Lumen Field in Seattle. After an interesting Saturday night in Detroit last week, there are several storylines for fans to follow.

After coming within yards of his first 450SX win, Aaron Plessinger will be out to prove his ride at Ford Field was no fluke. Chase Sexton, the benefactor of Plessinger coming off his bike within sight of the finish line, picked up the win. Then, Sexton was penalized. He had seven points deducted from his season total for jumping when the red cross flag was displayed for a down rider. He was allowed to keep the win.

Cooper Webb held onto the red plate as the points leader and added another point to his lead over Eli Tomac after finishing one position ahead of the defending champion in the Detroit 450SX Main Event.

The 250SX West riders get back on track at Seattle, and Jett Lawrence will be looking to continue his dominance of the smaller bike class.

What will things look like at the end of a night of racing in the Northwest? We can’t wait to find out.

250SX West Heats

The big surprise in Heat One of the 250SX West riders was how bad a start RJ Hampshire(24) got at the gate drop. Mired back in 13th place, he had to work his way past several riders to get into the top nine.

Pierce Brown(33) and Carson Mumford(52) put on a good battle for the lead, with Brown taking the win. Hampshire fought his way up to third but was well off the pace of the two leaders.

In Heat Two, Levi Kitchen(43) earned the hole shot, Cameron McAdoo(48) and Jett Lawrence(18) put on a classic back-and-forth battle for second as Kitchen built almost a three-second lead.

With just over a minute to go, McAdoo and Lawrence got together, and both hit the dirt. The crash allowed Kitchen to check out and take the win easily. Stilez Robertson(40) moved into second while the two downed riders separated their bikes and got back in the race. Lawrence recovered to pass Robertson for second, and McAdoo finished in the fourth position.

450SX Heats

Christian Craig(28) surged to the lead in Heat One of the 450SX riders. Aaron Plessinger(7) was fourth across the holeshot line but quickly moved up to second. He was the only rider to stay within shouting distance of the leader. Adam Cianciarulo(9) and Justin Barcia(51) easily held third and fourth.

In the final laps, Plesssinger closed to the rear wheel of Craig but could not make the pass for the heat win.

The top five in 450SX points were all lumped together in Heat Two. Cooper Webb(2), Jason Anderson(21), and Chase Sexton(23) ran one-two-three early. Eli Tomac(1) and Ken Roczen had to pass a couple of riders to move into fourth and fifth.

Sexton was the only rider of the group putting pressure on the man ahead of him. He and Anderson got together, with Jason going down. Everyone moved up a position, with Anderson dropping to fifth.

A late run by Sexton pulled him within a bike length of Webb. However, Cooper managed to hold on for the win.

250SX West Main Event

Stilez Robertson and Hunter Yoder(508) led the pack out of turn one after the gate drop of the 250SX West Main Event. Jett Lawrence and Cameron McAdoo followed close behind. As Yoder began to fall down the leaderboard, Lawrence patiently worked his way around Robertson to take over the top spot.

Robertson crashed hard and was unable to continue. Lawrence, Hampshire, McAdoo, and Kitchen separated themselves from the remainder of the pack. Will any of the chasers have anything to make a run at Lawrence?

Kitchen faded in the second half of the race. McAdoo and Hampshire swapped positions. But, it was Lawrence that continued to stretch his advantage.

Hampshire passed for the second spot as they came to the white flag. Lawrence stayed out front for the win, and McAdoo was unchallenged for the final podium spot in third.

450SX Main Event

Kevin Moranz(80) was the surprise early leader in the 450SX Main Event. Chase Sexton pressured him, and Moranz went off course, getting stuck on top of a tuff block. Eli Tomac ran third, with Ken Roczen fourth, and Cooper Webb sat fifth. The guy on the move was Adam Cianciarulo(9), making a run to the front.

Riders swapped places at the front of the pack. Roczen, Cianciarulo, and Webb all passed Tomac. The defending champion could see his repeat title run slipping away and refused to concede.

Tomac passed Webb, then Cianciarulo, and got around Roczen. Running second to Sexton, Tomac caught a break as the leader clipped a tuff block on a wide turn and went down. Riders continued to change positions as time wound down. Webb moved into second and briefly began to close on Tomac. Eli would have none of it. He seemed to catch a second wind and pulled away to over a five-second advantage.

Justin Barcia made a run up the leaderboard, moving into third. Jason Anderson, Sexton, Roczen, and Plessinger rounded out the lead group. Tomac held on for his 50th career win, and the 450SX points race is knotted together, with Webb and Tomac sharing the red plate.

Next week the series takes a break before starting up again in Glendale, Arizona, with another triple-crown event on April 8th.
