Hill Road, Mundy Township, MI — April 1, 2023
Yes, today is April 1st. No, this is not an April Fool’s Day joke. Although, some people have thought it has been one for a number of years. ABC 12 is reporting that Costco Wholesale Club has applied to build one of their popular bulk product-discount stores in Mundy Township.
The requested location is on Hill Road, just east of U.S. 23. If approved, the Gateway Center, home to two Marriott brand hotels and the Redwood Steakhouse, will have a new neighbor to the south side of Hill on property currently vacant.
While the approval process is not assured, there seems to be strong sentiment for making the plan a reality. The township has indicated they are willing to widen roads and make upgrades to help local traffic.
