St. Paul’s Episcopal Church to Host Music in the Heart of the City, Sept.17th

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Flint, MI — August 26, 2023

Music in the Heart of the City returns to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church on Sunday, September 17, at 4 PM. A special program called “Art Songs of America” will be performed by the musical duo of Michael Idalski, singing tenor, and Tyler Kivel on the piano.

An art song is most often a musical setting of an independent poem or text intended for a concert recital and requires that the two performers communicate to the audience the most subtle emotions expressed in the poem and music. The two performers must agree on all aspects of the performance to create a unified partnership, making art song performance one of the most sensitive types of collaboration.

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church is located at 711 S. Saginaw Street, Flint, MI. Tickets are $12 at the door, $5 for students, MCC and U of M students are free with school ID.
