Huntington Place, Detroit, MI — September 15, 2023

Huntington Place, on the riverfront in downtown Detroit, hosts the 2023 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) with the annual Charity Preview tonight from 5 to 9 PM. Tickets are still available for the event that has raised over $123 million for children’s charities in Southeastern Michigan since its debut in 1976.

The NAIAS opens to the public from 10 AM to 8 PM on Saturday, September 16th, and continues until Sunday, September 24th, with the curtain coming down at 7 PM. Tickets are available online or at the door.

If You Go

As always, traffic and parking can be a challenge in the downtown area. Go as early as possible to avoid the crowds. Parking at Hunting Place is (as of Wednesday) $20 per car, with surface lots in the area averaging $40-$50 for a full day.

Once in the show, go to the rear of the display floor and ride along in the Electrical Vehicle (EV) Experience. “It affords visitors the chance to immerse themselves in a wide range of electric vehicles. Sitting alongside a professional driver, show-goers will traverse through a serpentine track that includes an acceleration lane stretching more than 300 feet.”

Never been in an EV? The torque and power delivered to the wheels from a dead stop is truly amazing.

Ford Motor Company Display

Ford Motor Company brought back their Adventure Mountain experience. Take a ride with a professional driver through the course that climbs a mountain inside the show hall and features twisting body torque displays that showcase the Blue Oval’s vehicle construction and safety design excellence.
