Fenton, MI — November 14, 2023
For 25 Years, The Laundry in downtown Fenton has never cleaned and pressed a shirt. It has, however, impressed diners coming to taste the finest in cuisine at the French-style bistro with the odd name.

Maybe not so odd when you consider that the location at the corner of Shiawassee Avenue and Adelaide Street was a laundromat in the 1930s. The restaurant could be considered one of the leaders in helping Fenton develop its current reputation as a go-to location for foodies in Southeastern Michigan.
New Owner, Same Philosophy
If you have not heard, the establishment has been sold. But, the new owner is going to look very familiar to the regular patrons. Here is the announcement from The Laundry’s Facebook page.
“We are beyond pleased to announce that our General Manager, J Waddell, has purchased the restaurant from Mark & Mike! J has been a wonderfully trusted friend to The Laundry for over a decade, and he is an extremely hard worker who loves to take time to make sure that guests are as happy to be here as he is. Mark & Mike are thrilled that they found someone who knows our core values when they began to ponder the idea of retiring from the industry. They are more than happy to help J learn the ropes of ownership for the next couple of years as they say their heartfelt goodbyes.”
“I am very honored to get the opportunity to work with a team who made the decision to purchase The Laundry such a simple one. Some of them have been here even longer than I have, and I am very fortunate to have all of them by my side. I cannot wait to see what the future holds for Downtown Fenton and all of us here at the corner of Shiawassee & Adelaide.” -J Waddell.

Please note: We plan on keeping things business as usual here at The Laundry. All gift cards and promotions will still be accepted as long as they are valid and predate their expiration.
Stop into The Laundry soon, at 125 W Shiawassee Avenue, and wish J well as he takes on this new responsibility.
