West Michigan Police Dog Finds Missing Children

Geneva Township, MI — March 8, 2024

Police K-9 dogs helping find missing individuals is a story that pops up occasionally nationwide. However, when the same dog accomplishes the life-saving feat multiple times, that is a story worth repeating.

The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office was called in to assist in locating a three-year-old boy who went missing from his home in Geneva Township. Deputy Eric Calhoun and his K-9 officer Kuno responded to the call.

A bodycam video shows the end of the search, and the story was reported locally on WDIV-4 TV in Detroit.

Deputy Calhoun and Kuno partnered in 2017. Remarkably, this is the fifth missing child the duo has rescued.
