Augusta National Golf Club, Augusta, GA — April 11, 2024

The first major professional golf tournament of 2024 tees off today at Augusta National Golf Club. The Masters entertains us with stunning views of Springtime in North Georgia, traditions that set the tournament apart from all others, and competition among the best golfers in the world.

Of the 89 players that make up the field for this year’s tournament, you can find stories abounding for each. Five-time Champion Tiger Woods is back. Can he be competitive? Jon Rahm is the defending champion. Can he repeat? The world’s #1 ranked golfer, Scottie Scheffler, won in 2022. Can he become a multi-year champion?

Rory McIlroy has never earned a green jacket at Augusta. He can join an exclusive club that includes Gene Sarazen, Ben Hogan, Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus, and Tiger Woods as the only professional golfers to have recorded a career Grand Slam of golf’s majors. Can he calm the nerves and put together four rounds that will accomplish the goal?

The Par Three Tournament Tradition

Ricky Fowler won’t win this year’s Masters! He took himself out of contention by winning the annual par three contest held on Wednesdays. No player has won the par three and the Masters in the same year.

Five aces were recorded on the day. Lucas Glover, Viktor Hovland, Luke List, Sepp Straka, and Gary Woodland all made holes-in-one.

Extended highlights bring you all the action.

Honorary Starters Set the Stage

Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus, and Tom Watson served as the Honorary Starters for the 88th Masters. A little later than expected, as the weather caused a delay in the proceedings of the Opening round.
