Fenton & Linden Regional Chamber of Commerce Holds New Event at Lasco Ford

The Chamber's new "Networking in the Morning" expands attendance options for Local Business Professionals to gather and interface.

Lasco Ford, Fenton, MI — June 4, 2024

The Fenton & Linden Regional Chamber of Commerce has been serving our area for over 100 years! According to their website, “Chamber members represent area businesses, local municipalities, schools, and civic organizations. In partnership, we are committed to improving the quality of life in Genesee, Livingston, and Oakland Counties. This happens through active involvement in programs, events, committee work, and community efforts. Our members give their time, energy, talent, and resources to support our ever-growing community.”

A part of their event schedule is regularly scheduled “Networking Meetings” held at lunchtime or near the end of the workday. With the demands of running a business, attending to the responsibilities of serving community members, or performing job tasks, it can be difficult to schedule time to get away during business hours.

In an effort to provide members with additional flexibility, the Chamber held its first-ever Networking in the Morning event at 8 am on June 4th, 2024. The option of attending on the way to work as opposed to taking time out during a busy day to make a meeting was a welcome alternative to members.

Approximately 75 people attended the event held a Lasco Ford, 2525 Owen Road in Fenton. Networking get-togethers provide business owners with an opportunity to introduce themselves to other area members, develop contacts to further enhance marketing efforts, and allow a comfortable social atmosphere for like-minded individuals to discuss community involvement and civic participation.

Attending a Networking Event

What is attending a Fenton & Linden Regional Chamber of Commerce networking event like? Lasco Ford opened their showroom to Chamber Members who registered upon arrival, got their nametags, and were welcomed immediately to interact with those in attendance.

Chamber Ambassadors, wearing their green name tags, act as greeters and volunteer to help at Chamber events.

Cassie Shay, Lasco Ford’s member ambassador, described her work with the Chamber. “Ambassadors at events help to make people comfortable, introduce new members, answer questions, and work to promote local business. Some of our volunteer efforts include acting as mentors, promoting the community, taking photographs, and assisting businesses that host and sponsor various events and activities.”

Office staff from the Chamber keep things running through the morning. Shelly Day – Executive Director; Meghan Grimshaw – Member Director and Event Coordinator; Joy Scott – Office Coordinator; and Cristine Taylor – Office Assistant, were everywhere.
