Angel Stadium, Anaheim, CA — June 10, 2025
As a sportswriter, a lot of things come across your desk via email, social media, and other outlets. Truthfully, most end up in the trash bin. But, every once in a while, something truly spectacular pops up.
Courtesy of Major League Baseball and ESPN, here is a video of Denzel Clarke making what some are calling the “catch of the year.” It happened during a game on June 9th at Angel Stadium of Anaheim between the Los Angeles Angels and the visiting “Athletics.” Angels batter Nolan Schanuel clubbed what appeared to be a sure home run. That is, until Clarke tracked the ball and leapt high over the centerfield fence to snag it for an unexpected out. See it for yourself.
