The Shore Do Party Store has sat on Jennings Road adjacent to Loon Lake for over half a century. If you live in the Lake Fenton High School area, you are likely familiar with the location and may have even stopped by to pick up some liquid refreshment. Loon Lake boaters and residents know the place well. You walk in the front door, and the store is always well stocked with various convenience items, basic food goods, and a large selection of soda, beer, wine, and adult beverages.

Long-time area resident and businessman Shaun Benard has kept the store in pristine condition since taking over the location in 2023. The first thing you notice when you walk in is how clean and organized the place is. It has to be, because the second thing you notice is how incredible the inventory is for a building of its size.

Recently, Shaun made a rather impressive upgrade to the facility. When driving south on Jennings Road between Loon Lake and Crane Lake, the first thing you see is the north-facing side of the building that the party store is housed in. That exterior wall recently received a stunning facelift in collaboration with a well-known local artist.

Charles Boike from Flint, another long-time Michigander, is an artist of considerable renown. You may not know Charles personally but I bet you have seen his artistic flair if you drive around the region frequently. Charles paints some incredible murals, check out some of his work on Instagram  and Facebook under his business name “Wake N Paint.”

Shaun and Charles have known each other since they were kids in school. If you want to dress up the exterior of a building, contact Charles at cboike@gmail.com.

Here is the work Charles did for Shaun at Shore Do.
