Michigan is the home to several of the country’s largest pizza chains. Domino’s, Hungry Howies, Jet’s Pizza, and Little Caesars all began their franchising empires in Michigan. Their claims to fame vary, including pricing, crust flavors, toppings, and the debate over pan vs. deep dish; each has its own unique “secrets.”
Locally, there is a new player in town! And, they are making a lot of noise with pizza lovers. Say Hello to Enzo’s Pizzeria.
Enzo’s Pizzeria is the brainchild of Tim McMillian. The Fenton resident is the quintessential entrepreneur; his energy is boundless, and he operates at a level that surpasses most people’s imagination. When Tim had a bunch of rental income properties and wanted to move on from that business, he obtained a real estate agent license, joined the Lasco Real Estate Group as a part-time associate, and sold the properties himself.
How did Tim get into the pizza business? “I delivered pizzas when I was in high school and always thought that was a good business to be in. So, I opened a location in Grand Blanc back in 2022, and things took off from there.”
Enzo’s now boasts six locations. In addition to Grand Blanc, they have Pizzerias in Davidson, Fenton, Flushing, Clio, and Hartland. We asked Tim how he stood out in such a competitive industry. Here is the Enzo’s Secret.
Actually there are three parts to Tim’s secret “business sause.” “We don’t over spend on advertising. We have done some billboards, but mostly its social media and word of mouth. We have had good success with selling our pizzas at school concessions for football games and other local events.”
“Secondly, every pizza we serve is made from scratch. All fresh, never frozen, ingredients. Always made one-off.”
“Finally, and maybe most importantly, all our pizzas are unique, specialty constructed with more than just your average ingredients and made by an awesome team of pizza perfectionists.”
