NASCAR Star and Byron, MI native Erik Jones is coming to Owosso Speedway on July 28th, 2026, for a race. However, cars won’t be circling the racetrack; people will. It is the Burnin’ Rubber 5K Run and Walk to benefit the Erik Jones Foundation.
The Lasco Press spoke with Erik this week, and he wanted us to emphasize that “this is a family-friendly, fun event.” If you want to race, you can burn out 5K worth of laps around the asphalt track. If you want to walk, set your own pace. Do 1 lap or 8 around the 0.375-mile speedway. Kids 12 and under participate for free with adult supervision.
There is even a Kids Run featuring one exciting lap around the Owosso Speedway track!
Proceeds from the race will benefit the Erik Jones Foundation, and with professional timing and results, every second counts.
